Power BI Gauge Chart is used to show progress of a goal, minimum/ maximum, present target value achieved. It is often used to present KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as supply, demand, sales, profit, loss etc.

Gauge chart is perfect to show progress, to represent percentile KPI achieved, or to present score of a particular KPI or module.

I came across Gauge Chart in a project where I used it to assign score to four distinct modules by calculating the average score of each module.

In this story I will be sharing the steps involved in creating a Gauge Chart.

Step 1 : Load your data. Get data > choose your source > Connect

Step 2 : Select gauge chart from Visualization pane.

Step 3 : Select Value from Fields pane.

Step 4 : Assigning Min, Max and Target value.

Step 5 : Format Colors, Data Labels, Target label, add background color, give Title to your chart as per your requirement.

Finally Voila !!!

This is how the gauge chart looks now :

This chart shows the average sales, target, min and max sales value clearly.

I hope you found it insightful.

Add it to your list and a clap can help me know this effort was helpful.

Will be sharing more on Power BI Visualizations.

Thanks :)
